Our pitchers currently range in age from 9 to 90 and membership is open to anyone who enjoys pitching, including: Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Fathers and Sons, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Brothers, Husbands, and Wives!
All scores are based on a handicap process which is established after 100 shoes are pitched. So no matter what your skill level is you will never be at a disadvantage.
Every night of league play you are matched with two other players and assigned a court. While one person keeps score and the other two players begin by pitching two shoes a piece at the stake located at the opposite end of the court. All points count (we don’t play cancellation). A ringer counts as three points and shoe landing within six inches of the stake are counted as one point.
Play continues until each player has pitched 30 shoes which constitutes one game. The points are counted and a winner is determined by adding up the actual score and the player’s handicap. The scorekeeper and players alternate their play until everyone has pitched four games. (30 shoes)
Each week, results are collected and tabulated. At the beginning of the next week every pitcher receives their year to date results, winning %, average score per game, handicap, and league position.
The weekly results help every pitcher track their progress throughout the season as well as their standing within the league.
Please make sure to review the “Safety Corner” page as well as the “Tournament Etiquette” page.
No open toe shoes are allowed under any circumstances during lease play or tournament play.
